In Memoriam
Ted Jennings--visionary founder of CSF, his goal was to make sailing accessible, affordable and safe for everyone in Fairfield not only those fortunate enough to own nice yachts and enjoy yacht club life (as he did).
Lou Schueler--longtime CSF president and a past Fairfield Harbor Master and Harbor Commission member— he was a retired airline pilot who institutionalized the safety standards and training still in force for all CSF members.
Bob Stilson--a member and active volunteer for nearly 30 years; treasurer, master Ideal 18 rigger, he frequently sailed more days than anyone else during any season.
Ginny Perry Worcester-- raised in Southport and from a longtime sailing family, Ginny was a sailing racer, teacher and coach extraordinaire. She taught hundreds, maybe thousands of people to sail and her wisdom, humor and style live on in CSF website educational videos.
Earl DeWitt--master Ideal 18 rigger and all around volunteer for decades. He could solve any rigging dilemma that came up at the start of every season.
Joan Nielly- Always the life of the party, Joan was an active volunteer and board member who helped organize many CSF special events and recruit people to leadership positions (including Lou Schueler). She loved the music of Rod Stewart and always made sure we had a good sound system at parties. There were times we stored our Ideal 18s and trailers at her home property on Unquowa Road for the winter until we could figure out better arrangements.
William N. Wallace--Bill was our secretary in the early years of CSF, a regular volunteer for our Open Sail recruitment and promotion events, and a frequent sailing and kayaking enthusiast well into his eighties. He was also a retired, highly regarded New York Times sports writer and book author.
